This is BIP. I’m back and I’m happy to be back. I’ve been a bit distracted and I’ve been kind of contemplating directions to go in, but that’s not to say that I haven’t been increasing my skills and trying to move forward.
So today is all about moving on.
The thing is when you’ve done something in the past and it went well or it didn’t go well, you have to try and figure out what is the right time to move on.
Most times this is the most difficult decision to make. Most of us don’t make it well, we don’t make it on time and most of us dont make it at all.
Invariably what we do is we hang on, moving half a leg forward and half a leg backwards. Which means, guess what ? It means we don’t move at all.
So today is all about moving on and i am going to throw in a few quotes.
The first quote I want to throw into you is –
“you cant start the next chapter of your life , if you keep rereading the last one”. first quote that I would like us to look at is ” you can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one”.
What that means is you can’t keep looking back and then still trying to move forward. It is time to let go, close that chapter, archive it, finish it off, do whatever needs to be done and let it go. That way when you move forward your eyes are both looking forward, your feet are stepping forward and you will move forward. So that is number 1.
Number 2 is, starting today, i want you to forget whats gone and i want you to appreciate what remains and look forward to what’s coming.
Anything that happens to you in life whether it’s in business or in life or in your personal or your private or your public, use it as something from which you can learn and gain experience. And use that experience to help you with what is to come.
Nothing happens for nothing as far as I’m concerned. You can get something from any experience, be it good or bad, that will help you in your life that’s coming or it might even just be to help somebody else. So don’t look on it as necessarily a negative but try and find something out of it, from which you can grow and learn and be valuable to yourself and to people in the future.
Sometimes it’s also a matter of respecting yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy. That one i got from utoreal.com.
I like what its trying to say, that sometimes we have to understand that things are not good for us. Or we have begun to stagnate in something or it is negatively impacting us. In that case it’s time for you to move on again.
Today is all about moving on. Let it Go! Accept it for what it is and get on with taking forward motion. So i will repeat that one for you.
Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that isnt serving you, making positive impact on you. Keep that one in mind.
So respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy.
Basically my dear people, my dear Bipites, please take note.
Make today the day you realise that it is time to move on. If you make today the day you realise it and you take the steps to do it, then tomorrow will be a new day and better day.
One of the key things about moving on is forgiving yourself. Its a gift you must give yourself, in the process of moving on. The gift is to forgive yourself for what has all gone past, learn from it and then moving on is the gift in itself.
When wrong things leave your life good things start to happen. That’s another key thing.
I have found that in my own life that, sometimes when you are so scared to let go of that thing, for whatever reason. In being scared you paralyse yourself to stay in that position or that job or in that business or with that person and it means that you’re unhappy and in addition to being unhappy you’re not moving and that’s two very bad things.
In order to move you, invariably, have to accept the truth and stop wasting time and let it go.
Sometimes when things don’t happen, like I have always wanted my business to boom. I wanted it to boom in so many ways. But the timing of my personal life and my business life, always clashed and I am a family person. I don’t know. I know you have to be more ruthless when you think of business, but family comes first for me and business second.
Now in having that momentum people say you’ll never get where you need to go. Rubbish! I will get there, but sometimes when things happen in my business life, I’ve looked on it as perhaps it’s a wonderful stroke of luck. That it would…. the direction might not have been right. The thing I might have been doing might not have been right.
It hurts to let go but sometimes it hurts more to hold on. Another quote that’s quite relevant to moving on.
It may be the case that moving on, you have to let go. But sometimes what you’re letting go of is painful, it hurts. So you should let go because what you are not letting go of, is painful, so let it go. It hurts more to hold on to it, so move on.
Your peace is more important than driving yourself crazy trying to understand why whatever happened happened. That’s not to say you should not be introspective. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t review what business event you did and how it went wrong. Let me get that right, that was a bit muddled. That didn’t sound right.
You do always need to review what went wrong in any business activity you did, it’s important. But you shouldn’t spend hours, days, months, years, reflecting, reflecting, reflecting and not moving. That just means you’re paralyzed into a position and you are afraid to move forward and that’s not the way to go.
You review, understand somethings, most things and let go of the things you don’t understand and move on with the lessons you’ve learnt. So that’s really key, otherwise you’ll waste time and when you waste time you don’t actually make any progress. So That’s a cool thing to understand there.
Sometimes you just…you can look back from memory sake but really!? Remember, smile, learn move on.
I think that’s it really. There’s so many things I could say but I think the ones I’ve said are the ones that really are the most poignant things especially when you are in busines. When you are dealing with things or business events or activities that went wrong. Learn from them. Grow from them. Let go of them and move forward and move on to the next thing.
Moving on is hard. Knowing when to move on, however, is very key. And I hope that today for most of you listening that today is a day when, if you’re in that position, you would use today as the day to move on, to the good, the wonderful, the interesting, the exciting and maybe even the strangest things that are waiting for you, moving forward.
This is BIP B I P. Have a great day. Bye for now.
